TABLE OF CONTENTS: ABDUCTED

Dreams come to inform, guide, respond, alert, announce, generate, diagnose and heal. They are messengers sent to you in the night that hold the answers to the deepest questions in your heart. Whether feel good dreams or nightmares, something is trying to come to your awareness--something is longing to be heard, truly seen, acknowledged, and acted on in some way.

TABLE OF CONTENTS: ABDUCTED: MY STRUGGLE TO REMEMBER

INTRODUCTION

PROLOGUE

The introduction sets my story up and gives an overview of what to expect from my book.

The prologue tells the story of my abduction and ends with me trapped in a basement. My story then jumps 41 years and describes what happened on the night of September 9, 1989 when I woke up in the middle of the night, terrified.

 PART ONE               BEGINNINGS

In part one I begin a chronological narrative of my life, tell you about my family, and continue my story through college, mentioning a few puzzling details.

 PART TWO               NEW YORK

Part two describes my life in New York as I struggled to deal with the sexual revolution, pursue a career in opera, learn and perform 12 operas, encounter dangerous situations, meet Italian men, work at the Opera Theater of New Jersey, and give up my singing career.

PART THREE          SAN FRANCISCO

In part three I am hired by San Francisco Opera to run the Merola Opera Program and San Francisco Opera Auditions, the wing of the big opera that finds and trains young singers.

Events stimulate the return of my memory after I begin studying my dreams. I deal with major depression, and wonder if I am crazy as I struggle to discover what is happening to me.

PART FOUR            AFTER REMEMBERING

In part four my father dies, I move home to live with my mother, go to graduate school, receive a master's degree in counseling psychology, establish a new life, and work with foster children. I struggle with my family’s denial of my memory, and finally retire at age 65 in North West Arkansas.

PART FIVE              PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

In part five I research my past, begin writing my book, meet Roger Young, a retired FBI agent, and visit Los Angeles. I discover my association with organized crime, learn who my kidnappers are, and interact with famous madam Brenda Allen, and mob bag woman Virginia Hill.

My narrative ends when I am rescued by police in a raid on a pornography ring, am hospitalized, work with the FBI, and participate in court trials.

Finally, I tell you about my life today.

A long section of dreams I have not included in the body of the narrative, can be found in the appendix at the end of the book. I have done this because there were so many, and because I thought some were too graphic to include in the body of the book. These dreams cover such subjects as torture, prostitution and pornography, movie making, and recovery by police.

A comprehensive bibliography supports my research.

A picture and short biography end the book.
